  A preliminary design of Fusion-Fission Hybrid Energy Reactor(FFHER)has been proposed by Institute of Nuclear Physics and Chemistry(INPC)based on the current fusion science and technology and well-developed fission technology.In FFHER,we use the natural uranium and light water as fuel and coolant and moderator respectively,Li4SiO4 is utilized as the tritium breeding material.The combination of fusion and fission neutron sources in the FFHER blanket makes the neutron spectra rather complex.Besides,the coils and magnets outside the blanket cannot sustain too much energy deposition.Therefore,it is important to make detail shield design and carry out the shielding and radiation transport analysis of the FFHER according to the blanket structure and material properties to optimize the shield design.
