Porphyrins modified with N-isopropylacrylamide(NIPAM)-poly 2-Hydroxyethyl methacrylate(PHEMA)form a novel class of water-soluble temperature-targeted porphyrin photosensitizers(PSs)was carried out by RAFT polymerization.Herein,we developed a Taxol-loaded PHEMA derivatized porphyrins(MHTPP-PNIPAM-PHEMA-Taxol)to facilitate combined chemotherapy and photodynamic therapy in one system,and Taxol was covalently conjugated onto PHEMA by the esterification.The structures of the target photosensitizer were characterized by FT-IR and 1H NMR.The molecular weight and the polydispersity index(PDI)was obtained by gel permeation chromatography(GPC).PDI was narrow and the polymerization was well controlled.
