The purpose of this study is to analyze interface of the digital contents for students with cognitive impairments.Last 20 years,Korean government has been providing public digital contents for K-12 students in all subject areas.However,these contents were developed for general use and ability students that lack accessibility for some students with special needs.Diverse student have different needs and some needs assistive technology to achieve the level expected through learning objectives.Recent growth of immigration and globalization,Korea is considered a multicultural society.Although we have many students from multicultural family,but digital contents are not adjusted to provide extra needs for these students.As a result,student from multicultural families shows below average in basic education and these impact in their overall learning achievement.Therefore,in this study,we have identified underachievement characteristics of students from multicultural backgrounds,and analyzed the public digital contents with the UDL framework.The study identified how public digital contents provide limited assistive technological application for “all” student.The guidelines provide suggestions for future digital contents and digital textbooks to increase accessibility for basic education for students from multicultural backgrounds,and implication for all students with underachievement.
