Chinese Tianshan tibicos used in this study were from the area of Tianshan,the province of Xinjiang,China.These tibico grains consist of a polysaccharide matrix in which many bacteria and yeast are embedded,and can finally produce a lightly carbonated,acidic,and low alchhol beverage in sugary solution.We aimed to provide a comprehensive sequencing-based analysis of the microbial composition of Chinese Tianshan tibicos.SMRT sequencing technology (Single molecule real time sequencing technology) is a new technology which has many advantages,such as high throughput,fast speed,long read and low cost.And this culture-independent,high-throughput,SMRT sequencing technology analyses revealed that the bacterial genera included Serratia,Leuconostoc,Lactococcus,Lactobacillus,Pseudomonas,Zymomonas,Gluconobacter and fungal genera mainly include Guehomyces and Saccharomyces.Our findings are relevant to the knowledge of Chinese Tiabshan tibico grains fermented in sugary beverage consumed by local people,and this information will assist in the ultimate identification of the microorganisms responsible for the potentially health-promoting attributes of this beveage.
