Compared with classical high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and gas chromatography (GC), capillary electrophoresis (CE) attracts increasing interests in chiral separation field, especially for the cases where samples are available in limited amounts and short analysis time is necessary, as well as due to its high efficiency, rapidity and high resolving capability.Unfortunately, CE is inferior to GC and HPLC in the fact that the limited number of economical chiral selectors available is known to work as addictive in the background electrolyte, which seriously hindered the application of CE in enantioseparation.CDs and some derivative CDs have been employed successfully as chiral selectors in CE, for example, hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin(HP-β-CD).However, using CDs or derivatized CDs alone sometimes can not provide satisfactory selectivity and resolution; thus, a number of groups are searching for another effective addictive, which can form dual system with CDs or derivative CDs in order to enhance the enantioselectivity of them.
