To investigate the effects of relationship between ventrolateral preoptic nucleus (VLPO) and tuberomammillary nucleus (TMN) on the regulation of sleep-wake cycle in rats.SD male rats were randomly divided into seven groups:night control group (TMN+ACSF&VLPO+ACSF) and night experimental groups [(1) TMN+ACSF&VLPO+L-Glu;(2) TMN+Bic&VLPO+ACSF;(3) TMN+Bic&VLPO+ L-Glu];daytime control group (VLPO+ACSF&TMN+ACSF) and daytime experimental groups [(1)VLPO+ACSF&TMN+L-Glu;(2) VLPO+Trip&TMN+L-Glu].
