In this study,a facile and green starch-gel foaming method which utilizing the gelatinization properties of starch granules was developed to fabricate biomimetic ceramic composite sponge that can be used in controlled release of drugs.Starch-hydroxyapatite suspension was formed into porous structure by foaming process at temperatures lower than 60 ℃ and the porous structure was then dehydrated to obtain rigid scaffold with high porosities above 81%.
