In the force transmission between the tower and the foundation for offshore wind turbine,the key in solving the problem is of transferring the large moments and horizontal loads.A finite element model of large-scale prestressing bucket foundations of offshore wind turbine is set up and the structural characteristics of the arc transition structure of foundations are analyzed for the different numbers of the channels (40-60 channels) arranged prestressing steel strand under the same ultimate loadings and boundary conditions.The mechanical characters of the key parts of the foundation structures are illustrated by the peak of principal tensile stress,the peak of principal compressive stress and distribution areas where the principal tensile stresses are higher than 2 MPa.It can be concluded that the max principal stress of the arc transition structure decreases with the increasing number of channels for the prestressing steel strand,and the amplitude does not change significantly.However,the principle compressive stress increases with the increasing number of the channels and the amplitude changes significantly.For the distribution areas where the principal tensile stresses are higher than 2 MPa with the different channel numbers,the phenomenon is not obvious.Furthermore,the principle tensile stress at the top of the foundation beams is fluctuantly increased with the increasing number of the channels and for the top cover of the bucket,the principal tensile stress is decreased with the increasing number of the channels.
