A Special Child Welfare Clinic (SCWC) in Norway provides care for pregnant women with substance abuse problems to prevent adverse effects of substances.SCWC aims to give treatment without replacements.In a retrospective cohort study including 59 children whose mothers have attended SCWC in pregnancy and a comparison group of twice the size, data concerning neonatal outcome, health and living conditions was included.Data was gathered from medical records and by means of a questionnaire.
