TiO2-coated V2O5 nanowires via a surface sol-gel process and their lithium storage behavior

  Recently, ultrathin coatings have been demonstrated to improve the electrochemical properties of electrodes greatly.In the present work, a surface sol-gel process is used to coat V2O5 nanowires withan ultrathin coating of TiO2.The coated V2O5 nanowires with 5 layers of TiO2 retain a reversible capacity of 251.2 mA h g-1 after 60 charge/discharge cycles, corresponding to 1.25 times of reversible capacity of uncoated ones.
