  Solid and liquid Pythium oligandrum(P.O)agent samples were added in Angelica sinensis and Astragalus membranaceus fields to investigate the inhibition effect on Ditylenchus destructor and the growth-promoting.The results showed that the inhibition rates of two P.O agent samples were significantly high compared with control(p > 0.05).The inhibition effects on Ditylenchus destructor of Astragalus membranaceus were 85%and 75%,respectively.The inhibition rates of heavy Ditylenchus destructor of Angelica sinensis were 60%and 80%,the same with chemical pesticides.The inhibition rates of moderate Ditylenchus destructor of Angelica sinensis were 41.5%and 53.85%,but there was no effect in chemical pesticides.Furthermore,P.O in both solid and liquid agent samples improved the yield and quality of Angelica sinensis and Astragalus membranaceus,the increased yield rate of 7.3%,8.3%,2.5%and 6.4%,respectively.Therefore,P.O as a biocontrol agent has broad application prospects in Chinese herbal medicine planting.
