The URM Culture Collection of the Mycology Department, Biological Sciences Center, of the Federal University of Pernambuco was founded in 1954 by Professor Augusto Chaves Batista.This Culture Collection is registered in the World Data Centre for Microorganisms (WDCM) of the World Federation for Culture Collections (WFCC) as "604" under the acronym URM (University Recife Mycology).
