SnO2 films were supplied on the surface of 304 stainless steel (304SS) by a sol-gel and dip-coating process followed by different posttreatments,respectively.According to the measurements of electrochemical polarization and EIS,SnO2 films by hydrothermal treatment showed a highest corrosion resistance among the prepared coatings.It is suggested that hydrothermal treatment can improve the surface structure of the SnO2 film and provide an optimal barrier layer to metallic substrates.
