The partial differential equations of the curved surface of lower-chord pull-cable of bi-directional string structure is deduced in the paper based on the relationship between the balanced load and the curved surface of the cable and the force of tension and pull of the cable. The FEM and program to calculate the curved form of lower-chord cable-net is provided for the first time based on the equilibrium of the lower-chord nodes. The FEM process and method to determine the curved surface is introduced by 2 examples of curved roof. And stress analysis is made for the string structure determined after form-finding, and the correctness of the results for the form-finding is validated. The computation method given in the paper features definite physical meaning, convenient computation process and accurate computation result.
