@@ Despite impressive advances in modern medicine, bladder cancer remains the fourth most common cancer and the ninth leading cause of death from cancer in the United States. Among new cases of bladder cancer, the majority (70%-80%) is nonmuscle-invasive, over half cases (50%-70%) recur within the first 5 years after diagnosis, and 10%-30% may progress to muscle-invasive disease.
