As a novel class of polyketides, indoxamycins A-F were isolated in 2009 by Sato et al.from a saline culture group of marine-derived actinomyces.[1] Among them, indoxamycins A and F have shown to significantly inhibit the growth of HT-29 tumor cell lines (IC50 =0.59 μM and 0.31 μM, respectively). The absolute and relative stereochemistry of indoxamycins was originally assigned based upon a combination of 1D and 2D NMR experiments, and CD studies.
