Perchlorate has been commonly used in the manufacture of rocket propellants,military training smokes,munitions simulators,road flares,fireworks and pyrotechnics.Perchlorate release to environment was closely monitored and it has been detected in soil,surface water as well as ground water.The potential hazards has been proved to inhibit iodide uptake by the thyroid gland and disturb normal metabolism,which would retard physical and mental growth and lead to a series of diseases such as neurological damage and anemia.
