Our previous study showed that apoptosis is the main mode of cell death induced by intestinal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) and ischemic postconditioning (IPo) can reduce intestinal injury induced by intestinal I/R1,2.However, whether IPo confers the intestinal protection via inhibiting intestinal cell apoptosis or not remains unclear.
