As with well-defined electronic levels and surface state, the single crystal surface obtained continual attentions from the surface science.Though SERS method is a powerful technique,it suffers with material and morphology limitations problems, and it is also very difficult to obtain the Raman signals from the single crystal surface using SERS method. The invention of shell-isolated nanoparticle-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SHINERS)breaks the long limitations problems of SERS.As an new analytical technique,SHINERS technique has been widely applied to many fields.Oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)is the most important cathodic reaction of fuel cells, but its reaction mechanism still remains unclear.Recently,we employ EC-SHINERS method in situ analysis the ORR process on Pt(hkl)single crystal surface, and systematic study the different experiment factors, such as the crystal orientation,pH values, effect for the reaction.During the experment, some direct spectral evidences of peroxide and superoxide species were found, which provide a experimental support to understand the ORR mechanism.
