Objective To investigate the effects and mechanism of nerve growth factor (NGF) on intestinal tract of mice with colitis induced by dextran sulfate sodium (DSS).Methods 40 female SPF Balb/c mice were divided into four groups: control group, the mice were offered distilled water and received no therapeutics for 14 days; DSS group, 5％ DSS was provided for drinking for 7 days and received intrarectal administration of 100uL saline on day 8; adenovirus expressing NGF(Ad-NGF) group, 5％ DSS was provided for drinking for 7 days and received intrarectal administration of 100uL Ad-NGF (1 × 1010pfu/mL) on day 8; adenoviral-mediated vector group (Ad-0), 5％ DSS was provided for drinking for 7 days and received intraarectal administration of 100 uL Ad-0 (1 × 1010 pfu/mL) on day 8.Group DSS, Ad-NGF and Ad-0 were offered distilled water trom day 8 to 14.
