Due to their unique properties, magnetic beads (MBs) with micro or submicro size have been widely used as a solid support in a variety of fields.Combining enzyme immobilized MBs with CE techniques provides important advantages for enzyme assay and chemical analysis. In this work, a novel dual-enzyme capillary microreactor using MBs is developed and evaluated, is used to investigate the following two enzymatic reactions, Acetaldehyde + β-NADH + H+ ADH → ethanol + β-NAD+ Pyruvate + β-NADH + H+ LDH → lactate + β-NAD+ The dual-enzyme capillary microreactor was formed by fixing ADH coated MBs and LDH coated MBs at desired positions of the capillary using two magnets. The procedure is simple without any modification of the inner surface of the capillary.
