Arterial stenosis is a medical condition that can lead to stroke or myocardial or renal infarction. It consists of a local narrowing of the artery diameter due to the thickening of the artery wall as a result of an accumulation of fatty substances(known as plaque)in the inner layer [1].The plaque may rupture at some point, inducing the formation of a blood clot, and move into the circulation. This can block the supply of blood to the organs and become a life-threatening condition.Typical locations where plaque may appear are the carotid artery(near the bifurcation),coronary arteries in the heart, and renal arteries.
