We report on a study of the thickness effect on the resistance increase and molecular adsorption kinetics of single Au nanowire (NWs) chemical sensors.Resistive single Au NW sensors have been fabricated by a combination of atomic force microscopy nanolithography and conventional photolithography. The in-situ resistance increase of an individual NW sensor due to alkanethiol adsorption in alcohol has been measured in real time.
