Octodonta nipae (Maulik) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae), which is highly polygynandry and native to Malaysia, has been a devastating invasive pest on ornamental palm plants.It has been in south China since 2001, palm plants were seriously damage and most of them were then cut off to prevent from the spreading of this pest.In this paper, video recording system was used to take records of the mating behavior and copulation events of O.nipae, the mating rhythm and behavior of the pest systematically examined.
