MicroRNAs(miRNAs) are endogenous single-stranded non-coding RNAs with a length of about 21nt.They are known to negatively regulatepost-transcription of genes throughint eractions with 3untrans late dregionsor coding regions of their targets.Several lines of evidence have shown that a majority of miRNAs are encoded in theirown genes located in the intergenic regions, suggesting that they exist as independenttranscription units.
