Cubic BaLiF3 were prepared by a facile surfactant-assisted hydrothermal-microemulsion approach.The samples were characterized by X-ray Diffraction(XRD),Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM),and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)techniques.It indicated that monodisperse cubic BaLiF3 micrometer-sized self-assembled by nanoparticles were fabricated for the first time.At the mean time,the upconversion luminescence(UCL)properties of Er3+/Tm3+,Yb3+-codoped BaLiF3 under 980 nm excitation were evaluated.For BaLiF3∶ x%Yb3+,1%Er3+(0≤ x ≤20),the red emission,which centered at 651nm and could be assigned to the intra-4f electronic transitions 4F9/2 →4I15/2 of Er3+ ions,while the green emission intensity at 541 nm and 522 nm attributed to the 4S3/2 → 4I15/2 and 2H11/2 → 4I15/2 transitions,that indicating a "saturated" two-photon absorption mechanism.
