(Objective) The previous researches on porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) and its receptors which based on molecule and cell level were common, but correlational studies on morphology in vivo were rare. The purpose of this experiment was to investigate the expression pattern of PRRS virus receptors in the central nervous system.(Method) Animal experiment、 immunohistochemistry streptavidin-perosidase (IHC-SP) method and double immunofluorescence histochemistry method were utilized for pathological examination、 virus distributing detection and the cellular localization of virus receptors.(Result) PRRSV could cause serious nonsuppurative encephalitis to piglets which characterized by hyperemia、 degeneration and necrosis of neuron and gliocyte proliferation.Sialoadhesin were widely founded in hippocampus and spinal cord neuronal cytoplasm, Vimentin were mainly discovered in neuronal and astrocyte cytoplasm, CD163 mainly expressed in neuronal cytoplasm and part of telencephal and hippocampal oligodendrocyte, nonmuscle myosin heavy chain Ⅱ-A (NMHC Ⅱ-A) were widely observed in neuronal cytoplasm.(Conclusion) It could be concluded that the four PRRSV receptors were all existed in the central nervous system. They expressed in some nervous cells and functioned differentially during the process of virus invasion. It was the combining with PRRSV and specific target receptors in the main neurocyte of the central nervous system that lead to the neurological symptom of piglets, and these conclusions provide powerful evidences for further explaining of the PRRSV pathogenic mechanism and the combination of PRRSV and its receptors, as well as the developing for more effective vaccines and diagnosis methods.
