Degenerative aortic stenosis is currently the most prevalent cardiac surgery pathology in Europe and North America and its incidence increases with age.Its treatment has gone through some important changes within the field of surgical medicine with the aim of improving outcomes and reducing treatment costs. The evolutionary parameters of its severity have become better known through echocardiography and have allowed for a more accurate following of its progress and an improvement in its treatment (the right time for surgery) as well as evaluating the best therapeutic choice based not only on the echocardiographic parameters but also on the study of the different co-morbidities that the patients present.
