By the present social background,the streetscape of central districts such as a local city in Japan doesnt contain each identity.As most of such streetscape have a wide pitch of building and various heights of buildings,the streetscape cannot show a continuation.In this study,these streetscape is defined as "Discontinuous Streetscape".It is extracted that discontinuous elements appearing to sever continuity of streetscape.Moreover,psychological influence by existence of elements is evaluated by people.The objective of this study is to obtain an index that used for planning streetscape.There are the panoramic photographs of 30 streets 300 spots of the Japanese local city as past results of research in this study.Furthermore,there are the data of psychological evaluation by SD method and indication experience: subject point out the element cutting off continuity of street.By using these,we aim to obtain further results.In this paper,four points where have discontinuous evaluation and various structure of street were extracted from 300 spots.In Panoramic photographs of these,we extracted discontinuous elements by indication experience and excluded discontinuous elements of more than 50% of indication rate.However,in open area,discontinuous of street is excluded by inserting photograph.In four points,psychological evaluation was caught quantitatively by SD method.Similarly,it was caught how each discontinuous element contributed for discontinuous streetscape.Furthermore influence of consciousness of people in street space was clarified.
