A novel magnetic multi walled carbon nanotubes with fluorescent imaging performance (F&M-MWCNTs) was successfully fabricated by combining in situ atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and fluorescence labeling with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), followed by coprecipitation processof ferriferrous oxide nanoparticles, which was characterized with transmission electron microscope (TEM), vibrating sample magnetometer and confocal laser scanning microscope (CLSM).
