Introduction Hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) is an infectious disease commonly seen in children that is caused by a variety of human enteroviruses, which is characterized by fever and maculopapules or herpes appearing at the sites of hand, foot, mouth and other places.Most cases occur in preschool children, with the highest incidence observed in children ≤ 3years old [1].
