Nowadays,curriculum innovation has been launched all over the world.With the rapid development in Information Technology,the New Curriculum Reform has been initiated in China.In this study,I would like to introduce how to use visual thinking tools to facilitate junior students higher order thinking in English Reading Class.Moreover,I would like to show a new English Reading Class Model-----the 5R Reading Model,which shows the students-centered of active participation by using visual thinking tools.By using this 5R Reading Model,the teacher can understand what the students are thinking about more visually.Meanwhile,students can develop their HOTS(Higher Order Thinking Skills)from LOTS(Lower Order Thinking Skills)of the reading ability.
