Platinum (Ⅱ) chemotherapeutic agents, especially cisplatin, play an important role in treating cancer. But severe side effects such as nephrotoxicity and neurotoxicity, and cell resistance associated with platinum(Ⅱ) drugs have greatly limited their clinical application [1].Pt(Ⅳ) compounds as the pro-drug with less toxicity have been exploited in recent years, especially combined with other drugs. It is important to protect platinum (Ⅳ) pro-drug from being immaturely reduced before entering the cancerous cells.Recent achievements have shown that nano-scaled carriers could have superior properties to prolong blood circulation time and increase accumulation in tumor tissues through enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect.
