Recently, conjugated polymer nanoparticles (CPNs) showed greatly attention for their widely application in electronic devices and photonic crystal. However, particle-size dependent multi-color emission of single component hairy-rod CPNs that resemble the inorganic quantum dots cannot be realized by general conjugated polymers via conventional methods such as miniemulsion dispersion or reprecipitation for the driven force of the formation of CPNs, unless via doping and blending, post-processing for controlling energy transfer.Supramolecular approaches afford powerful toolbox to not only make excellent self-assembly into superstructures, but also tune optical properties.
