Background: Although there are many surgical methods to deal with tennis elbow, there are still no good results and widely application.Purpose: The objective of this report is to describe a new surgical technique for the treatment of tennis elbow which involves the application of a palmaris longus tendon to rebuild a new starting point of common external origin. Methods: We describe a new surgical technique for the treatment of tennis elbow which involves the application of palmaris longus tendon to rebuild a new starting point of common external origin of the forearm extensor. The surgical method is as follows: 1/2 contralateral palmaris longus tendon is harvested;a knot is tied in its middle, sutures are attached to both ends of the harvestd tendon;a 3.0 mm drill bit is used to penetrate the middle point of external humeral epicondy exiting the lateral side;palmaris longus tendon is threaded through the drill hole from the lateral side; One end of palmaris longus tendon is then sutured side-to-side to the extensor carpi radialis brevis with interrupted sutures using 3-0 polydioxanone, the remaining end is attached to the origin of the common external origin.
