A novel Gram-stain-negative, slightly curved rods-shaped, oxidase-and catalase-positive and aerobic bacterium, designated strain TH1-2T, was isolated from cyanobacterial aggregates in a eutrophic Lake Taihu, China.Growth occurred with 0-1% (w/v) NaCl (optimum 0%) and at pH range between 5.5-8.5 (optimum pH 7.0) and at 20-37 ℃ temperature range (optimum 30 ℃) in Nutrient Broth.Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences demonstrated that the novel isolate was 90.5% similar to the type strain Glycocaulis abyssi MCS 33T, 90.4% to Maricaulis washingtonensis MCS 6T, 90.0% to Brevundimonas naejangsanensis BIO-TAS2-2T.
