Health promotion is the science and art of helping people change their lifestyle to move toward a state of optimal health.Tai Ji Quan is a Chinese traditional conditioning exercise that integrated breathing exercise into body movements.This paper reveals from literatures that Tai Ji Quan has benefits in health promotion and has potential role as an alternative therapy in some diseases.It not only improves strength,flexibility and balance,but also contributes to improvements in cardiovascular disease,osteoporosis,arthritis and balance disorders.Tai Ji Quan is a suitable exercise for people of all ages,regardless of previous exercise experience or aerobic capacity and has several advantages over other forms of exercise,as it does not require special clothing or equipment making it a cost-effective and affordable form of exercise.
