Previous studies in our laboratory found that glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (Zwf) expressed up-regulate when Pectobacterium carotovorum subsp, carotovorum PccSlinteracted with Zantedeschia elliotiana in vivo, and the virulence of the gene insertional mutant of zwf was significantly reduced, but that of zwfgene deletion mutant was remained.Meanwhile, the deletion mutant of eda, a gene downstream of zwfin the same direction encoding Eda for carbon metabolic in ED pathway and pectin degradation, showed a significant attenuated in virulence and lost the survival ability on the media of sodium acetate as a sole carbon source.
