In order to enhance the dissolution properties of poorly water-soluble drug-Ibuprofen, solid dispersion was prepared using supercritical fluid technology.Aerosil 200 was used as the carrier to prepare solid dispersions of ibuprofen.Ibuprofen had changed to an amorphous state in solid dispersion by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM).Result of dissolution test indicated that dissolution rate of IBU in solid dispersion prepared by supercritical fluid method was markedly improved.After 5min of dissolution, the concentrations of IBU in the solid dispersion with Aerosil 200 as the carrier were 78.5 %, corresponding to 20.8 times that of the pure IBU.It is demonstrated that the supercritical fluids method can markedly improve dissolution characteristics of Ibuprofen by preparing solid dispersion.So the supercritical fluids method will be a promising method to improve dissolution characteristics of Ibuprofen with Aerosil 200 as carriers.
