Aim: To study the inhibitory effect of methyl salicylate 2-O-β-D-lactoside (MSL) on LPS-induced BV-2 cell. Methods: BV-2 cells were treated with LPS (0.1 μg/mL) to establish inflammation model; MTT assay was used to detect the viability of BV-2 cells; nitric oxide (NO) was detected by the method of Griess reaction.ELISA was used to study the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumour necrosis factor-a (TNF-alpha) level.Inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-l(COX-1) protein expression was examined by the Western blotting analysis.
