Bilirubin removal has caught more attention because high level of bilirubin accumulated in plasma may cause neurotoxicity and lead to permanent brain damage [1].It is accepted that an ideal adsorbent for bilirubin should contain a high functionality of positively charged amino groups and a hydrophobic spacer based on the molecular structure.analysis [2].For this purpose,a new-type adsorptive membrane for bilirubin removal was prepared by UV radiation grafting glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) [3,4] to polypropylene (PP) membrane and subsequent amination of grafted GMA with hydrophobic diamines such as hexamethylene diamine (HMD),m-xylylenediamine (MXDA),isophorone diamine (IPDA),and trimethyl hexamethylenediamine (TMD).
