华北地台寒武系第三统发育大量的鲕粒滩,尤其以张夏组最为发育,不同时期分布范围有所不同,表现出明显的穿时性特征.前人对此也进行了较为详细的研究,早在20世纪90年代初刘怀书首次明确指出张夏组一段具明显的穿时现象,90年代末沙庆安等在鲕粒滩相与藻坪相沉积-鲁西地区中寒武统张夏组剖析中认为华北地区寒武系第三统大面积分布的鲕粒是同性相,而非同时相,鲕粒滩的发育是随时间由东南向西北层位逐步抬高.
