The HAuCl4 aqueous solution was employed to react with the Ce(OH)CO3 nanorods precursor,which results in the CeO2 nanotubes formation and Au nanoparticles (NPs) loading simultaneously.Compared with the routine impregnation method,in which the CeO2 nanotubes or nanorods are pre-synthesized followed by immersing them in HAuCl4 aqueous solution,this modified approach not only simplifies experimental procedures but also increases Au NPs loading on the CeO2 nanotubes.
