Endometrial cancer is the most common gynecologic malignancy in the U.S.,and the incidence has been increasing in many Asian countries. The Age Standardized Rate of endometrial cancer is 16.5/100,000 in the U.S and 11.1/100,000 in China respectively. The primary surgical approaches for patients with endometrial cancer include hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and selective lymphadenectomy. However minimally invasive surgery has been increasingly adopted by surgeons as it can decrease the morbidity for women. The role and limitations of this approach has been assessed by randomized control trials.
