Particulate matter(PM),especially small-sized ones,presents severe hazard for human health.High efficiency,light-weight,human-friendly and multifunctional personal-protective air filters are highly desired to avoid the threat of PM.Nanofibers with a slip flow effect and theoretically low pressure drop and high filtration efficiency have attracted much attention to be used in aerosol filtration for superior filtration performance[1].Herein,we fabricated a series of nanofiber air filters made from a natural source through an electrospinning process.The nanofiber air filters were found to possess light-weight feature and superior filtration performance for PM2.5 and submicron particles in the range of 100-400 nm.
