An experimental mixture that provided 100％ of mineral requirements (organic origin,except salt),at least 75 grams of true protein and about 50 grams of non-protein nitrogen was offered at 400 grams per animal/day (96.1％ dry matter,28.9％ crude protein,1.38 Mcal ED/ kg dry matter,9.9％ Ca,4.6％ P,0.57％ Mg,0.42％ K and 10.78 ％ Na) and received as forage bales of rice and/or standing hay of native forage and/or sugarcane bud and/or forage for grazing or cutting and pricking of Brachiaria radicans,Cynodon plectostachyus was evaluated in six production units (PU) of dual purpose cattle (crossbred between 5/8 Bos indicus and 5/8 Bos taurus in various proportions).
