Compared with turbulent plasma jet,laminar plasma jet (LPJ) has more advantages,e.g.long jet length,low jet temperature gradient etc.Most reported laminar plasma torches (LPT) work at a power lower than 20 KW and are only able to generate LPJ with a small transverse diameter (<10 mm).Its small power and small transverse diameter limits its capability in applications such as the synthesis of nanoparticles,remanufacturing of large components etc.Therefore,this paper proposed a LPT working with a power about 50 KW for generating LPJ with large transverse diameter (20 mm).
