The influence of liquid crystal(LC)orientation on the lasing behavior of dye-doped holographic dispersed liquid crystal(HPDLC)is investigated.We fabricated an isotropic grating by carrying the experiment above the LC clearing point.The isotropic dye-doped grating showed an improved lasing performance with lower threshold and narrower bandwidth due to a larger refractive index modulation.
