The fiber-matrix interface of C/SiC composites prepared via precursor infiltration and pyrolysis was modified by PyC interphase deposited on degummed fiber by chemical vapor deposition and heat-treated PyC interphase.Moderate thickness of PyC coating could enhance flexural strength and modulus of the composites. When thickness of PyC coating was ~0.10μm, flexural strength and modulus were 481MPa and 48.1GPa respectively.Heat-treated PyC coating weakened the interface and changed failure of the composites to pseudo-ductile fracture. When thickness of PyC coating and temperature of heat-treatment were ~0.10μm and 1600℃, flexural strength of the composites was the highest (494MPa).And the composites did not exhibit brittle break.
