Artificial grassland establishing has been applied to rehabilitating extremely degraded grassland (named "heitutan") in the alpine region of Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau.Compared with natural grassland,artificial grassland may not only change vegetation composition,but also alter soil characters.Soil enzyme activity can be used as a bioindicator of soil recovery after artificial grassland establishment.In this study,we evaluated the activity of various enzymes (cellulose,urease,protease,nitrogen fixing enzyme) involved in the carbon and nitrogen cycle at artificial grasslands with different restoration years in different seasons.
